downgrades

∼ Characters will have very little memory, more than a little memory (1/3) or at least half their memories.

∼ previous powers of any kind, though they may retain a little later on. (they will never be able to regain these fully at maximum power)

∼ combative fighting skills will be minimal due to memory loss. (a character's natural strength without enhancement is allowable from the beginning but a skill is not a personality or psychical trait.)

∼ extreme intelligence they may have had prior since they are lacking in knowledge of even themselves, this means knowledge they have acquired through learning not natural intelligence. Natural intelligence is completely allowed, sounds stupid but we're sure you understand what we mean by that.

∼ memories can be regained overtime. some of the other things can be regained in time too, but things such as otherworldly powers will be regained in a very small amount depending on how powerful the character might have been previously.

Skills, and learned intelligence can be regained too. We'll let you know how much can be regained when the time comes.

starting items

Clothes including shoes ↔ their own, minus special items and things that could be used as weapons /or they can have entirely new clothes.

Bag ↔ The character starts out with a minimal amount of object help, while most items may be unattainable to take with the character-- this place will sometimes allow useful items to go with the character when they 'leave' one space and end up in the next.

Light source ↔ When a region becomes too dark it's always useful to have some kind of light handy, isn't it? Such an item could be in relation to your character.

When I say in relation to your character. Think of a character you really like. What kind of light source might they use?

I'll use Yuffie Kisaragi for my example; Yuffie loves materia and materia glows like the dickens. While materia would be completely non-active in the ever changing world, the glow would still be present since it can be used for a light source.

You can be creative with your sources really. Same goes for the bags, and paper.

A light weight weapon ↔ that requires brain use. something that may seem entirely unusuable. (characters can pick up better weapons as they go along later on.)

Diary Or Journal ↔ character personal use only until further notice.

Most importantly a torn page or piece of page from a book. The page is completely blank. ↔ Your character will also wake up with this. Why it's there, is unknown but if they throw it away... they may very well regret it.

(the pages differ in style. No character would have the same exact piece.

wide ruled, college ruled, drawing paper, sketch paper, scanner or printing
sheets, parchment. Whatever would come from their world or make sense to you at least.)

items can be in relation or no relation to your character at all.

how the journals work

The journals will be purely for personal use only.

This means conveniant commenting between characters is pretty much forbidden, until further notice. It, in our opinion, the mods, takes away the whole horror element if a character always knows someone out there is facing the same challenges or someone could be easily accessible.

Later on it's possible that journals can be used as a means to contact one another. Possibly even sooner than that, but not right now.

miscellanious information

Tagging System
This is super easy to remember, if we want to keep organized and have things in reach for new comers or just for ourselves-- then it's best to keep tags in lost_handbook

Always label things event: event name and character: character name and simply event. if a character isn't playing during an event then there's no need but the character: character name tag should always be used.

Thread Labeling

who:
when: (you'd actually only need to add when, when dealing with event threads concerning the day)
what:
scene:
open or closed:
